You overdid it again didn’t you?
I know, I know, it’s super hard to resist all the goodies this time of year. With the holiday season comes parties, boozy drinks, sweet treats and late nights, a recipe for disaster for many a party goer. Sometimes it doesn’t even take more than one cocktail or one chocolate dessert to make us feel like we’ve been hit by Santa’s sleigh and run over by his reindeer the next morning. Those are the times to reach for Nux vomica 30c.
Nux vomica has been known to help with the proverbial “hangover”, or even the sensation of a hangover after an evening of overindulgence where headaches and stomach pain are the result. The person may even feel a bit constipated, and undigested food can feel like a “rock” in the stomach.
Be sure to have Nux vomica on hand during the festive season so you are able to handle symptoms such as headaches, nausea, and constipation. People who need this remedy will often say that they would feel better if only they could vomit or have a bowel movement.
My youngest recently had this experience. One really late night, and some unaccustomed food left him with a headache and terrible stomach pain. That evening before bed I gave him a dose of Nux vomica 30c. The next morning the headache was gone but the stomach pain was still there. I gave him another dose of Nux vomica that morning and again in the evening. The following day he woke up and announced that his stomach no longer hurt! Awesome.
It’s hard to see our loved ones suffering, but it's such a gift to be able to alleviate that pain with gentle, yet effective medicines.
So the next time you notice someone imbibing a bit too much at the holiday celebration, you'll know exactly the remedy they'll be needing the next morning.
Enjoy this most festive season my friends!
